The New Breitling Avenger Collection Released at Los Angeles Summit

The third Los Angeles Breitling Summit that took place two months back saw the re-launch of the aviation-inspired, sporty Avenger collection. The brand-new Avenger lineup combines the old Avenger reference style with the design elements of discontinued (supposedly) Breitling Colt.

Breitling has now launched fourteen new references, in three sizes and different case materials, colourways and bracelet options.

Here is a brief review of what the revamped Avenger has to render. Let’s take a look!

The New Breitling Avenger GMT Models

Breitling introduced the new Avenger references in three case sizes – 43mm, 45mm and 48mm. The Breitling Super Avenger 48 is the biggest and boldest of the new Avenger lineup.

However, both the Super Avenger 48 and its Night Mission version come with COSC-certified self-winding chronograph calibre.

The Breitling Super Avenger Chronograph 48 features a stainless steel case, sub-dials at 9, 6 and 12 o’clock, luminescent hands and numerals on a three-register dial and a date window at 3 o’clock.

However, the Night Mission reference sports a similar dial layout in a robust yet lightweight titanium DLC-coated case.

Both are powered by the ETA 7750-based Calibre 13, offering power reserve up to 48hours.

The Chronograph 48 comes on a steel bracelet or an anthracite-coloured leather strap. On the other hand, the Avenger Night Mission is mounted on a military blue leather strap, matching its blue dial.

The New Breitling Avenger 45

The Avenger 45 models consist of two chronographs and also, two new watches in the divers’ Sea Wolf sub-family.

The watch features a steel case and unidirectional rotating bezel with the symbolic rider tabs.

Like its ‘Super’ big brothers, the Avenger Chronograph 45 is fitted with a blue or black dial flaunting similar dial design and also, the same Calibre 13 movement.

However, its Night Mission version comes in DLC-coated black titanium case with a military green or blue dial.

Two models of the Avenger 45 lineup have a GMT function and run on the self-winding Calibre 32 with a power reserve of 42hours. While the stainless steel one comes with a blue dial and leather or bracelet strap, the Night Mission model sports a leather sand-coloured military strap and black dial.

The Breitling Avenger Chronograph 43 & Automatic 43

The more versatile yet substantial references are the Breitling Avenger Chronograph 43 and Automatic 43.

The Avenger Chronograph 43 is equipped with Calibre 13; whereas the Automatic 43 is powered by the Calibre 17.

However, both the timepieces come on either a steel bracelet having a folding clasp or anthracite or blue leather strap, with a folding buckle or pin closure and with a black or blue dial.
